He found that he was glad when she took his suggestion to heart and went to her purse to find a means of making the alcohol come to light. It was more than a little obnoxious that they were about to go pretty much buy out a liquor store just so he could get a bit tipsy for a little while. He wasn't going to argue about it, though, or try to rationalize not doing it. A phony card meant nobody was actually paying for anything, except maybe some insurance companies.
Johnny stood up, grabbing his hat and started to follow.
"Are you telling me that you're not only rooming with Studly McHandsomepants, but an angel as well?"
He wondered if the situation had happened all at the same time, or if the angel had come along later in the timeline. If it was one that she knew well, Johnny could see Mary extending an offer to stay at the house.
"And how do you have possibly two other roommates? Isn't that something you know for sure?" At least these questions were just curiosity and not accusatory.
