Mary wasn't the sort to get irrationally jealous. Usually. But when she was off-balance and didn't know where she stood? Oh you could bet she would get jealous. There was a part of her that was a little hurt that Johnny had taken to living with some strange woman so easily even while he kept her at arm's length.
It was one thing for him to not be ready to move on with anyone. But thinking that maybe it was just her and that someone else might change that? She wasn't sure she was prepared for that.
Which was why Mary pretty much seized on the idea when he brought up the liquor store. She set her glass down and went to rummage around in her purse.
"I'm pretty sure I still have a phony credit card or two. Maybe they'll work here?"
She didn't actually want to hold up a liquor store if they could simply buy it with a card that she never intended to pay. Once she'd found said cards, she slung the purse over her shoulder and looked over at Johnny.
"All right. Let's go shopping."
Her smile was just a little bit easier, even if the conversation still hadn't been entirely comfortable. And even if she knew that getting drunk probably was just going to postpone things, if not complicate them further. Right now, she didn't care.
"Oh, uh, I have one more housemate to watch out for. Possibly two. Remember when I told you about angels and their interest in the Winchesters?"
