Johnny holding her like that... for just a moment, Mary wondered if something had gotten mixed up with the abductions. If somehow the Johnny of her time had ended up here. With all the alternate realities and timelines colliding, it was possible... right?
She still wasn't sure how she would feel about that, since the complete honesty offered by the Johnny of the past had been truly refreshing. She only realized for sure that it wasn't her Johnny when he released her without a kiss. And of course, the words that came after that.
All the same, she was grinning like a bit of an idiot by the time he got done rambling. She stepped aside and gestured into the house.
"Get in here," she said with a jerk of her head and a tone that was light enough to show that it wasn't an order.
"I know what you mean," she continued. "I'm glad you're here but not glad you're here. I've been looking for you." There was a little bit of surprise as she realized that he must have been looking for her too. That he'd, in fact, been going door to door looking for her.
