If these things had been humans instead of twisted animals, it might have been easier to deal with on many levels. The idea of trying to get a wooden stake into a vampire duck's heart just seemed absurd. Those things were all over the place.
He heard sincerity in Cas's voice when his own life had been brought up. It was a nice feeling, and settled over him like a warm blanket. He didn't think that his new friend would balk at some of the things he had to say. Unlike most Piotr had encountered post-KGB, Cas appeared to be a real soldier with real harsh experiences. Many thought they wanted to hear stories of Piotr's time as an agent, and often started to make odd faces before he ever got very far in. Actually, most didn't make it halfway through the first tale before discomfort seeped in.
