"No," Cas replied promptly, vaguely amused by the question as he followed after the other man. "There's...a salvage yard there. Privately owned. The people I knew previously...my friends. They chose to reside there when they needed a place to stay and were nearby."
Piotr's comment about not selling him out to potential enemies was...comforting. Perhaps even charming, though evidently the other man had no idea of what Cas was referring to. That was likely for the best, but then...he remembered that Piotr could cover his entire body in steel. That likely could have gained him several enemies and were he a demon or some form of shapeshifter, Cas would have been able to see his true face.
"I'm not...I'm not concerned about that," he said, shooting the other man a faint smile. "You would have no reason to do so even if that were your intent. It's more a matter of you believing me if I tell you. What I am...it's complicated."
Cas harbored no embarrassment regarding his former status as an angel. But if people didn't wish to kill him, they were more inclined to laugh. It made no difference to him, but in dealing with other humans, it served for them to take him seriously. "It may modify your system of belief."
