The strange look went unnoticed, seeing as it was one he got often. Cas was not looking for her acceptance or her approval. He simply wished to avoid a situation that could lead to violence among the presumed ranks, though of those he'd met, there were few. He assumed there were more, but he'd waited for Mary to be the judge, seeing as she knew more than he did.
"The vampires of my reality are different," he explained. "They have rows of teeth that protrude from under the gum. The young ones...tend to be overeager. And reckless."
Granted, it was difficult to say whether he or the vampire had been reckless that night. He'd been angry and simply looking for something to fight, just as he had been before actually speaking with Phaedra. Now that he had, he got the distinct sense that she was likely just defensive. It was to be expected.
"No," he replied. "That would be a lie. But regardless, it seems you are faced with a choice."
