Fancy meeting you here (Bo/Methos log, cont. in comments)
Bo didn’t know where to go, but she didn’t think staying at the house was the smartest idea. At least not yet. The dead guy had said that there might be some who wouldn’t care for her kind, and she supposed that was true even back home. She supposed it could be worse, much worse.
Rather than focus on just how screwed her life had become, she decided to focus on getting to know where she was. This place felt different than the last. She couldn’t explain it, but she knew that something was different. It wasn’t just the way everything looked, but there was a definite feel to it. This was not wherever she’d been.
So, it was with a sigh, she sat down at a cafe to eat something normal people ate. Well, normal people with money. She might have gotten someone else to pay for the muffin and coffee. She needed to find an ally, a real ally. At least Johnny wasn’t an enemy, but that wasn’t exactly the same as someone who may possibly on the off chance care that she existed and remained living.
----
Methos was getting a little tired of hopping from world to world. Waking up in the house with Harry, a real wizard by the way, hadn’t been as bad as it could have been since no one decided to practice any of the fighting skills on each other. Methos had drawn his sword but that had just been the whole startlement of Harry falling out of bed and trying to kill himself tripping over the table. The noise hadn’t been expected and all this world hopping was making him nervous.
At least he assumed it was a whole new world. It sure as hell wasn’t where he was before and it seemed silly that he might have just jumped a few cities over for some reason.
Once again he had no money so Methos used old skills to liberate a wallet and found something to eat and a newspaper so he could try to catch up on where he was and what he was doing. It was in the cafe that he spotted a familiar face. He slid into a seat next to Bo with his newspaper and breakfast. “Fancy that, someone I know.”
----
Bo was just about to bite into the muffin when he walked up. She smiled a brilliant smile, one that hinted at their most recent activities, only hinted at. There was something nice about having a familiar face with her at the table.
“Well, they let just about anyone on to this world, don’t they?” She laughed softly and took a sip of coffee, her nose wrinkled a little at it. The taste wasn’t what she was expecting - it had a weird spice in it. Well weird because she didn’t think she ordered some holiday themed drink.
“We’re not anywhere near Kansas.” Yes, she was referencing Oz, and she knew that she might have just made him Toto in this scenario. “I could kiss you for being here. Woke up in a house with an undead guy - and, before you ask, no, I did not make him dead or undead.” She knew that she had a strange way of dealing with people.
“I might have tried feeding on him - it didn’t work.” She might have mumbled while speaking these bits of truth. “He startled me?”
----
“Wait, so I’m the dog in the analogy?” Methos had caught that she put him into the Toto spot and he raised a brow at her from where he was sitting. “Undead? I have to say that’s a new one. And are we glad to see me or need a feeding when you talk about wanting to kiss me?” There was an amused smile on his face as he took a drink of his coffee.
----
“Are you?” Bo gave him a sweet innocent look before laughing softly. She kissed his cheek, her hand lifting to touch his without sending any power into the touch. She smiled, slipping her hand a little further up to his arm before pulling away.
“A little bit of both, honestly. But, I’m happy to see someone I know. It’s nice to have a friendly face nearby.” She gave him a quick wink; with that done, she started in on her muffin.
----
“Well at least I’m listed as a friendly face.” Methos snorted softly but smiled for the kiss and the hand on his arm. “Most people just tell me to get my face out of their sight because they’re tired of me. I think you have much better taste than they do by the way.” He grinned with a surprisingly boyish expression before taking another drink of his coffee.
“I didn’t have any undead. I happened to wake up with a wizard. For some reason I expected those to have a long white beard and wear a robe for some reason but he looked fairly normal other than being around seven feet tall.”
-------
“Wizard. Wow.” Bo was properly impressed. She hadn’t met many of those, and she wasn’t sure she’d want to. She knew magic existed, and she’d met a few who had worked with it - or chi, depending on what one called it. It was difficult to talk about sometimes.
“You are a friendly face.” She purred softly at him, leaning in for another kiss. This one might have demanded a little attention in return, but she didn’t get too pushy about it. Instead she sat up and started eating her own food. “Anything of interest? Other than a wizard? Did you wake up in a house? A really nice house?”
----
“I did. Although to be fair nice houses aren’t that unusual for me most of the time.” Methos assumed she’d woke up the same way if she was asking about it. “Sometimes I slum it. Like now when I seem to be taking the tour of the universe without a bank account.” He snorted and started in on his own food. He’d told MacCleod that time he wouldn’t be seen dead in a place Adam Pierson could afford. Methos had become a terrible snob over the years in some ways and he wondered how exactly that had happened after his past.
“Anything for you other than the undead?”
---
“I’m used to the lack of money.” The succubus had lived most of her life without money. The moment her mother decided Bo was some awful slut who was going to Hell one day, Bo had left and lived on her own; she was a survivor.
“You. That’s about it. Not all that exciting, but I could go with a little less exciting.” She took another bite of the muffin; she chewed thoughtfully. “Haven’t met too many people here, the ones who seem to belong here. But, they feel...normal.” She wasn’t sure about that last word.
-----
“Oh I have definitely done without money before. And not just now, but if I can avoid it I’d rather not have to take from others to eat.” He pointed at his food since that had been purchased with someone else’s wallet. At least he had practice in recognizing who could afford to lose enough to get him through. “I can tell you that I do know how horrible it is to starve to death since I’ve done it a few times.”
And she might have a better reason from him now other than curiosity of why he’d been willing to risk getting killed for her to feed.
----
"Never starved to death." Bo sighed softly. She didn't want to say that she had a very strong survival instinct. She would rather kill than die if it came down to it, and that usually didn't win many happy smiles or friends. The succubus had been doing rather well lately, but there were times. Not that she was counting the accidental death of the Immortal sitting beside her. Plus, it wasn't as if he'd stayed dead.
"What should we do, do you think?" She wasn't hitting on him; she was curious. Bo had come to depend on those who'd lived longer than she. Methos had certainly done that. She took this fact for granted, especially since he had indeed come back from death. Well, succubus induced death.
