Simon's eyes had found the strange woman easily as he passed by the shop. She was not like the others. Not like many who were here, even before they'd been taken away from the real Electric City and placed into this strange facsimile.
The charms, the wards, the magic she wore and carried called to him. She stank of the ancient powers, those things that humans never truly understood, even if they were well educated in what they were.
He watched her lips move and kept himself exactly where he was as she came toward him, seeming to be aware of him and his difference to those that surrounded the both of them. But would she know truly how different?
