"I don't give a shit if the whole universe knows who you are." Eva's words were cold, showing a side of herself that she often fought to conceal when in public.
Quickly, she guided herself - and Effie in tow - in the opposite direction of Wayne Industries, where she worked. She really didn't need anybody there overhearing what she had to say. And if it was true that Effie was widely known, Eva didn't want any of the cameras picking up that she was having a conversation with her.
Despite walking fast, Eva managed to look causal in doing so. Just another person in a rush in this big city. She didn't say another word until she found a spot away from the crowds and prying eyes.
There was a chance that she was overreacting, that Effie didn't actually think that Eva had any relation to the Joker, that she was just mentioning that she knew the guy, or knew of the guy. Eva's rational mind echoed this and more at her, but it wouldn't quiet the other side of her. Irrational and prone to violence like both of her parents.
"I don't think that's a name you should just go spouting off wherever." Eva said as she turned to face Effie. "Like it's no big deal. Joker."
