Eva smiled, taking Effie's offered hand. "Eva Napier."
She stepped up to the front of the cart and smiled at the man running it. She didn't need to say anything, he knew what she wanted. He knew what everyone wanted, really, if they were there often enough and got the same things. He started her coffee without needing to be told.
"I think cherry today." Then she pointed at Effie. "And whatever she wants. Black coffee for sure, but I have a feeling that she's going to want a pastry."
Eva turned back while they waited for their order. "Missing? How long has he been missing?" She thought it was mildly strange that somebody would change their name because their husband vanished, but who was she to say anything about names? Her middle name was a sick joke from her father, and nobody ever believed it was actually on her birth certificate.
