Evan stiffened when the sounds of an intruder entered into the clearing's surrounding area, he sat incredibly still until he could catch a whiff of whomever or whatever it might be. That's when the confusion set in. He'd not encountered that smell for... well. A really really long time. He stood up, listening, scenting the air, watching for the appearance of the figure he was expecting. Was this some trick? The fae having some fun? Evan would never put it past the fuckers.
He was still standing there, like an idiot, as Aaron himself appeared. Evan was very sure it was actually his cousin. There was no way to produce a glamour so solid as this figure was. Nobody could hide the truth that well. Not even Simon. Evan was sure of it. Pretty sure. Mostly sure. Okay, he wasn't sure at all.
"Aaron..." Evan shook his head. "It's good to see you, but I'm sorry that you're here."
The idea that his cousin would be stuck with them in all of this... Evan felt really bad. Now he had family stuck in this hellish adventure with him.
Another scent got him, just then. No, it'd been there, Evan had just not associated it. Wolf? Aaron was a wolf, too? Had the aliens done this to him as well? Thinking it'd be funny to have two family members running around with fur sometimes? Another group that Evan was sure would fuck with everyone for whatever reasons.
