Roy slid his arm around Laurel's body. He snuggled a little into her and the counter. They were both enjoying the food perhaps a little too much; the sounds and faces they made were usually better suited for other pursuits, not that anything was overly inappropriate. He squeezed her softly, stealing a bite of her bread somewhere along the way.
"It's a new kind of weird," he sighed, a hint of a smile on his lips. A quick kiss on her cheek before he let her go. "It's one that we get to be happy until we find out the danger that's lurking under all this good stuff."
He knew he was talking truth or jinxing them both to something not at all good. He started putting things away, not wanting to leave the kitchen in a mess before leaving. They'd have to leave to find their friends and teammates. He was more than ready to find the people they hadn't seen in a while. They had to make sure everyone was okay after all.
