Sliding onto the couch reminded Johnny of how comfortable it had been, and how he'd woken up with no soreness or stiffness, despite being upright for however long. He thought of how nice it might be to have something to eat and lay around with Mary all day long. Not going anywhere. Not worrying about the outside world.
He took the time to lay the plate down first on an ottoman and pull it forward so that it could be used as a table, then sat back, and held out the glasses so Mary could pour.
"Who knows. I guess we can ask when we decide to wander out. I'm choosing to believe that the aliens felt like being nice, and put us together for once. Maybe it's a fairytale, but it's ours."
