Kai immediately shifted her trajectory and headed toward the trees Emma indicated. Her eyes followed them up and up and up. She didn't think she'd ever seen trees so tall, and she was including her visits to the California Redwoods in that statement. They were also fairly close together in some spots.
I have an idea.
When they got to the tree, Kai bent so that Emma could use her hands, and then shoulders if need be, as a step up. The Hunter was sure that she could scale the trunks herself, so she wanted to be sure that Emma was safe first.
Climb up about ten feet, then use that thick branch to shimmy over to the next tree. We'll go up and over like that for a while. That way if they catch our scent or see footprints, or whatever the hell fae can do, we'll be far away from this tree.
