"Not really. There are miles and miles of snowcovered ground and a few wild animals-polar bears and penguins, mostly. Other than that, outside the village is pretty barren."
Aurora held onto Mulan's hand like a lifeline. She always felt safer and bolder with the other woman around. She chewed her lip and snuck a glance at Aurora while she considered whether or not she should ask anything of this man who brought joy to so many.
"Santa, you have magic, correct?"
St. Nick smiled warmly at Aurora.
"That I do, my child. And as it's nearly Christmas, I'd like to give all of you who are visiting my village some sort of gift. What is it that you would ask of me?"
Aurora fidgeted a little. She again glanced at Mulan, feeling slightly guilty. She couldn't quite put a finger on why she felt guilty. Or perhaps she could. There was a chance that deep down, she knew that there was something more than friendship between them.
"We've been searching for my husband and son. They went off to a different realm and I'd like to see them and know if they're okay."
Santa's smile faded ever so slightly. He looked between the two women and nodded.
"I had a feeling you might ask for that. I can find them, and I may be able to send you to visit for a day. But I should warn you that time has not moved in the same way for you while you've been on this journey. There is a chance that many years have passed for your family."
Aurora took a deep breath and tried to let that sink in.
"I'll appreciate anything that you can do, no matter how much time has passed."
