"Heartbroken, heartbroken is the word," Mary replied with a stifled smile.
"It also might be about trying to get different pairs or small groups of us to work together," she added with a helpless shrug. If there was one thing she hated, it was not understanding why a thing was happening. And unlike with hunting, it wasn't like she could consult with more experienced hunters and the lore. As far as she could tell, there were no resources for them in all of this.
She sighed heavily.
"Dissent in the ranks might actually work in our favor eventually. Provided that they don't kill us while they're fighting over what to do with us.
Not dying was always the better option, but she was prepared for things going south-as prepared as one could be.
She laughed softly, more at herself than anything.
"Well, this is a cheery line of thinking, isn't it? Leave it to me to get my man alone in a cozy cabin and talk about our potential deaths."
