Laurel saw the glimmer of hope on Emma's face. And no matter how much Emma had reassured her that there was nothing back home for her anymore, Laurel had to wonder who she'd lost.
Santa gave Emma a warm look.
"The results will usually last a day, unless you're asking for something tangible. I think it's easier to tell you what I can't and won't do. I can't make anyone do something that's against their nature, nor will I hurt anyone. But I can give you the chance to see your loved ones again, whether we bring them here or send you back home. I can also send you anywhere else that you'd like. Again, it would only be for a day, but..." he spread his hands as if to say 'what more can I do?'
Laurel stayed quiet for the moment, her mind already working at what she wanted to ask. But she would let Emma have the chance first.
