Laurel frowned, still trying to process both Emma's power and the idea that the minds of the people around them were guarded like this. She considered how to answer back, then attempted to answer back in her mind. Emma would be able to read that, maybe?

There wasn't much judgment behind the last question, though she supposed that Emma would need to consider the morality of reading minds without permission. That was all venturing into murky waters, because Laurel didn't come from a world where mind-reading was a thing. That she knew of. Granted, the methumans that were popping up could mean that someone, somewhere had that power.
