"It was a life of luxury until the wall around the place came down," Laurel said, trying to suppress a shudder. She didn't elaborate on the things she'd seen that day. She wasn't even sure if Emma would believe her or not.
It was clear from some of the comments the girl had made that Emma had money back home. Whether that would be a hindrance in some of the situations they were thrown into, Laurel couldn't say yet.
She didn't really recognize any of the descriptions, though she supposed that wasn't a surprise.
"I haven't met them all, but my boyfriend, Roy, is here-maybe not here specifically, but he's been with our group. My friends Felicity, Ray, and Diana are around as well." She sighed. "It would seem that not everyone ends up at every stop we make."
Which still set her on edge, particularly when she thought of what the aliens might have done to her in the chunk of time that she didn't remember. Even with Diana's reassurances that there was a Dinah Lance in her world with a sonic scream, Laurel still wasn't sure how she'd woken up with the power. And she wavered between wanting to know and not wanting to know how she'd gotten it.
Once inside the restaurant, she grabbed a booth and opened up a menu. There were no prices on the menu, which was either very bad or very good. Laurel wasn't sure yet, but she knew that she was going to make sure Emma got a good meal before they figured out what they were dealing with. Her maternal instincts did tend to rear their head around those younger than she was, particularly if they were stuck without their parents.
