Laurel gave Emma a sympathetic look. She gestured for the young woman to join her so they could start walking. It was too chilly to stand still for very long.
"You're not the only one who keeps getting sent to places that aren't home. Obviously," she gestured to herself. "We're trying to find out we can and trying to find a way to get home." She frowned a little. "If we can find a way, one of us can always go back with you to help, if you need it."
She wasn't going to send a teenager back to a bad situation if she could help it. Though that was assuming that they could find a way back for anyone. But she had to hold onto the hope that it was possible. Hope kept her going, especially in this bizarre situation.
