Laurel turned at the voice that sounded human. Watching the elves, she half expected their speaking voices to be a little higher pitched than normal humans. The comment about this being weird settled her nerves too.
She offered a hand with a small smile. She didn't recognize the girl, but she assumed that this was another abductee. She looked too lost to be a native.
"Laurel Lance. I'd say weird about covers it." She nodded to the elves. "They're awfully... cheerful," she said with a conspiratorial smile.
She just hoped that this wouldn't be like the resort. That had seemed peaceful and safe until finding out about what was behind the wall. And of course, the day that the wall had come down still haunted her nightmares. She half expected to find a wall around this place or something else concealing monsters or other dangers. As it was, it was too happy and peaceful for her to feel safe here.
