Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Amelia and Molly
WHEN: Sunday Afternoon
WHERE: Outside in the courtyard/outside in general.
WHAT: Just hanging out! Planning ball stuff. Etc.
RATING: I'd imagine low since they're both good girls. ;P

Amelia was rather excited to be spending some time outside. She was getting rather bored hanging around the castle, and her schoolwork had become tedious already. Normally she didn't mind classes and homework, but only certain classes she actually liked. The ball was coming up soon, however, and it was currently monopolizing her thoughts. She had no idea what she was going to wear, and finding a date was another obstacle. Ed had done a fine job of intimidating the boys she was remotely interested in, and Mia just didn't know who else to choose. Not that a girl asking was exactly normal, so she wasn't sure if she wanted to look pathetic either. It was complicated, and she felt like she was putting too much thought into it all a bit. Going alone wasn't such a bad thing. Amelia just kind of was hoping for having a companion; not to mention a good costume. Like Molly had mentioned, she was torn and indecisive, and it wasn't even her birthday!

Pulling on some proper clothes, including a light jacket since the air was constantly getting cooler lately, she headed out of her room with a bounce in her step. Molly should be meeting her shortly, and she was excited to spending some time with her friend. It would be a nice switch from all the boys she found herself surrounded with lately. Of the friend variety, of course. Finding a nice spot outside, she sat down on a bench, watching her fellow students hurrying about the grounds while she waited for Molly to arrive.

Molly didn't mind the cooler weather, for two reasons. One, it reminded her that her birthday was coming up, and two, it meant that she got to wear her own hand-knit or crocheted jumpers. Today was a particularly colorful one that some likely would have called gaudy or tacky, but Molly didn't care. It was warm, and she'd made it herself!

Of course, on her way down to met Mia, Molly had found a little second-year boy looking lost- she'd taken a few minutes to set him back down the right corridor, only then realizing that this detour meant she was going to be late to meet her friend. Molly didn't want to risk losing any points from Gryffindor for running in the corridors, but she did walk a bit brisker as she got closer, finally stepping out into the courtyard and waving to Mia. "Hello! I'm so sorry I'm late!"

Waiting for her friend to arrive wasn't really a bad thing. It was nice outside, and she definitely preferred it to being inside. As Mia waited, she swung her legs idly over the bench ends, though the bottoms of the sneakers she wore scuffed against the ground. She wasn't quite dressed in sweaters or jackets yet, but she did wear a light cardigan over her shirt so she didn't get too chilled.

Seeing a familiar shock of red coming towards her, she smiled and waved as Molly approached. "Hey! No worries. It's nice out and it's not the end of the world to wait a minute!" she called, getting to her feet and crossing until she was next to her friend. "Though if you forgot then that might make me a bit sad."

"Of course I didn't forget!" Molly insisted, quickly, stepping closer to give Mia a warm hug, as if it might help convince her. Stepping back, Molly tucked her hair behind her ears, then offered a smile. "So! What adventure lies in front of us today?"

"I know! I just had to tease." Smiling, she returned Molly's hug before stepping back so they could talk more. Mia was excited, that was certain, but she had absolutely no plan for their activities whatsoever. "I haven't got a clue, honestly. I figured we could head off and see what we run into," she suggested, grinning at the entire lack of planning going into this.

"What we run into?" she repeated, trying to hide her smile. "At Hogwarts? Merlin, Mia, that could be anything from the giant squid in the lake to a gaggle of first year Slytherins memorizing basic charms!" Never a dull moment at this school, at least.

Mia couldn't help but laugh, though she fixed her friend with a serious look after a moment. "I am still not convinced there is actually a giant squid in the lake. I've been here for six years and haven't seen it." Though at Hogwarts, anything was possible. "Why don't we just go for a walk? I can't stand being in my stuffy dorm room for another second," she suggested, smiling as the breeze blew through her hair refreshingly.
