    It was the night of Ian's first date with Summer, and he couldn't be more nervous. Usually Ian was cool, calm and collected but usually that was because he had alcohol in his system. Tonight he decided to at least start out sober, and only drink if he really needed to relax. He was wearing jeans and a white button-down shirt, which looked nice but still date casual. He knocked softly on the door and took a deep breath. Ian had created a tiny scavenger hunt for their date because he knew Summer was a special girl, and deserved to feel special for once.

    It had been a long day already, Carrie was unable to go home for Christmas, so she went to work on the day after Christmas, even though it was a Saturday, because the thought of staying cooped up at home with writer's block, and nothing to do was not appealing. She finished up a list of things to do and by noon was done and went shopping in Nashville. She returned home and walked to the coffee shop just down the block from her apartment complex. She received a call from her mother, complaining that Carrie didn't go home for Christmas. She sighed as she lied to her mom, telling her she just couldn't get off work. The truth was she just didn't feel like being crammed in a house full of people, when she was lacking anything relating to Christmas Spirit. In fact she was lacking inspiration for anything and needed a real boost or kick in the ass. She took a seat on a bench outside of her building as she sipped on her cappuccino and gazed up at the sky and the last sliver of sunlight fading beyond the horizon.

    Summer finished setting up for the party and waited on all the guests to arrive, she wasn`t sure of how many to expect so she ordered LOTS of food and drinks. Summer was hopeful that a lot would show, but most of all she hoped Ian would be there.
