James was tempted to storm away, still angry at his father but instead he nodded as his heart slowly down a little bit. He had not wanted to cause a scene in the hall right there, but it had turned out to be just like a lot of other 'talk' between the two Potters. He breathed in and nodded. "Of course I'll.. I'll go straight back to my dorm." he said, walking away from his father as quickly as he could.
About two corners away from where he had left his father, he bumped into Professor Morris (the Charms teacher) who glared at him and put both hands on her hips. "Mr Potter.. You are not on the list of Prefects doing rounds tonight." he stated but cut him off with a finger in the air as he tried to explain himself. "I'm taking 20 points from Gryffindor for being out of your Tower after curfew, you are a Prefect, you should know better."
"I was having a talk with Professor Potter, Professor I-" She cut him off again, shaking her head.
"Being Professor Potter's son does not grant you immunity to school rules, Potter. Be thankful I don't make an example out of you." She told him shortly, glaring at him.
"I'll head back then. Good night, Professor Morris." he said quickly, almost running all the way back to the Gryffindor Tower. Fourty points from Gryffindor and a whole week of detention.. that evening had been costly.
