Summary: Rose has been reading. Anyone surprised?

In times of doubt, Rose had always picked up a book and found the answer. No matter what the issue was, you could always find the answer written somewhere, already esperienced by someone who had found a way out. Now this wasn't quite the same thing, but she had rationalized that it was.

Should they move forward or not.

Tricky question actually because they had never really discussed it, but the book she had found: The psychology behind relationships had helped her a bit. As she read the book, Rose figured out that Colin might be a bit too shy to try and make a move or something and she just didn't know what to do about it.

Solution? She should be the one instigating the move and do something. Going out on picnics or getting an ice cream was good and all, but the funny look her mother gave her when she told her that they had not been past the small peck on the cheek made her reconsider. So she knocked softly on the door of the flat Colin shared with her cousin and walked in after James invited her in. Apparently, Colin was napping on his bed so she decided to surprise him a little.

Making her way there, she pulled out her wand and unlocked the door, slipped in and locked it right up. Gently she sat on the empty side of his double bed and bit her lower lip. Maybe.. Noticing that his shirt was riled up and showing a bit of his belly, Rose licked her lips and decided that she wanted to feel how warm his skin was.

With the back of her fingers, she touched the small, soft and warm area on his side, right above his underwear line.

Colin awoke to a warm feeling, starting in his belly, he assumed it was from the dream and so he smiled and rolled over, his legs moving and hitting something. This solid thing woke up fully and he sat up, sleep making his eyes bleary. "Rose?" He asked, his throat thick from his nap.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, pulling his t-shirt down suddenly very aware of only wearing an undershirt and his boxers.

Rose took her hand back when Colin rolled over, an amused smile on her lips. "Slept well?" she asked, tilting her head on the side. Overtime she had learned to open herself up whenever she was alone with him (something her mother insisted she tried) and found the social interaction to be incredibly pleasant and every single gesture from Colin made her feel seen like no one ever had before. It was true that she usually preferred not to be seen, but that too was changing.

And seeing him fluster was also very amusing. "Well if you prefer I leave.." she said innocently though teasingly.

"The goblins are evil little devils." He joked, "They'd work a wizard to death if he were over five feet tall, what do you think they're doing to me?" Smiling at her, he leaned up and kissed her on the cheek, their customary greeting. "Don't go," he said, taking her hand gently, tugging her down to lay beside him in his sleepiness, for once disregarding the distinct walls he put up whenever he was near her for fear of pushing her away.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, sleep still fogging his brain.

	Rose laid beside him and propped her head on her hand. "Am I not allowed to come visit?" she asked, chuckling. "They are making you work too much, I don't get to see you much anymore." 	Rose placed her free hand on his arm and allowed him to snuggle against her. "You know, I could get used to this." she whispered, giving a really soft giggly chuckle. It was a thought that had crossed her mind often, in fact. She could get used to this.. "What kind of things?" she asked, mirroring his question. "All sorts of things." Rose added with a smirk. When she smirked like that, Colin always just wanted to kiss her right then and there, and this time, he did. In the privacy of his bedroom, in his own flat, he could if he wanted, and so he did.

It was more than their usual peck on the cheek or silly little smooch, but when Colin felt himself truly noticing how close they were in his long, thin bed, he pulled back, the look of confusion back on his face.

Then he smiled, "Rose," anyone listening to him could tell from his voice that he felt truly happy in this moment, "What are you doing here?"

This kiss was nothing like they had ever done before but she could tell that it was where things should be moving forward to. She had never truly noticed couples back at school but she had made a point to try hard to study people a bit better, especially now that she worked on Diagon Alley.

"I told you," she said very softly before kissing his lips again. "I've been thinking," Rose let her lips ghost over his briefly before she planted a kiss under his jawline, tilting his head back in the process. "And I've been reading too." Her hand smoothly travelled it's way down his arm until it reached the destination previously set by Rose. The hem of his shirt.

Sneaking her hand underneath his shirt, Rose studied his reactions as she found his warm skin.

Her hand on his skin, a sensitive spot from never having been touched. Goosebumps lifted immediately and he sucked in a breath. "Rose?" He choked out her name, still wondering what she was getting at. Had James talked to her? Was she feeling pressured? Colin took her hand in his, searching her face for her motive.

His face tight with control he asked again, "What's going on?"

Rose pulled back and smiled innocently at Colin who seemed to be struggling to keep his sanity. "Why do you keep asking so many questions, Colin?" she asked softly. If she was honest, she had been reading far too much about sex and had found out pretty much all about men and the different ways to make them squirm. Rose had wondered if Colin was like that too and then she had stumbled upon a few statistics that were saying that most bloke around their age were at their best sexually.

Not only that, but it was scientifically proven that in their late teens, sex was all blokes could possibly think about, something about the chemicals released during the orgasm. Being 18 or even 19, Colin surely was late.

	Colin sat up again, her hand still in his, and he played with her fingers, shy. "Because..." Time for honesty, he supposed, but his voice was small, "because I've thought that you weren't ready or interested in more..." He sighed and finally looked up at her for any sort of reaction. Rose frowned as she looked at him. "Well you never asked, Colin. The best way to know what's on someone's mind is to ask directly. You never did and Mum was starting to look at me funny when I told her that things between us were doing good and very stable so I figured I must have missed something." She explained a bit quicker than she would usually do.

"And then she gave me a book or two that she had found back when she was at school and.." She tilted her head to the side and bit her lower lip.

"I figured that considering the statistics, your age, mine and our seperate sexual experience that it should be moving faster than it is."

Colin smiled, the relief and excitement clear on his face, he lay back down and tugged her closer, his eyes wide. "Of course you got reading," it was so perfectly her, and so perfectly him to hide from the issue, and having it all out in the open felt wonderful.

Kissing her cheek and then moving to nip at her bottom lip he said, "I certainly don't want you worried about the statistics, but if what you're trying to say is that you want to move forward, I'd have to say that might make me the happiest wizard in Britain."

Rose rolled her eyes. Wasn't it what she had said in the beginning? "Of course I've been reading about it." she said, chuckling. "I'm not worried about statistics, I'm just worried about doing the right thing, is all."

She still couldn't figure out why Colin kept saying she made him the happiest wizard in Britain no matter what she was doing but she just had to go with it she supposed. "How am I supposed to want something I have never experienced before, Colin? It's not logical at all. How can you know you want ice cream if you never tasted it?" She was going to experience it (sex) and see if it was something she liked and wanted to do again. Just like tasting avocados.
