While she hadn't spent much time with Ryan, she did with James and Dalton. Brigid would call both males her friends and not because they get lots attention, but because they were nice to hang out with from time to time.
"Quite frankly, if I want to be the center of attention, I will be the center of attention. I don't need a man to achieve that goal," she said. "However, for some girls, yes, being with someone like James, Dalton or Ryan is preferable because then they share the center of attention rather than being ignored."
Brigid felt hurt by the insinuation that she would have a problem with Riley's introvert nature. It was her nature to be social. She liked being around people, throwing parties, studying, relaxing under a tree all because the idea of living her life alone was so terrifying.
"I hope that's not what you think of me. That I'm attention seeking because if you do..." Her voice trailed off. She got attention because of her looks and her mother. Lost for words, she frowned.
