Who: Teddy Lupin and Bellatrix Black What: Meeting by accident Where: Smuggled, L2 When: Monday while Ben is in school
Tensions were high all around the town, and it was hard not to notice the house elves that had now taken over running the town. Teddy had wanted to ask them all sorts of questions, that perhaps they knew how Skeeter was doing this, or if their magic was great enough to evacuate people (had people already tried that? Had there ever even been house elves around before? Teddy wasn’t really sure of any of these answers), ultimately he knew that the poor creatures were no more aware of their surroundings than he was.
Teddy was running on no sleep. His job required him to work nights, but he was the only caretaker of Ben now and things had to be taken care of during the day, like preparing food and shopping and making sure that Ben got to school on time. Usually Vic took care of a lot of these things while Teddy slept for the first half of the day. But she wasn’t here. Teddy was exhausted, but he had errands to do and he was determined to cheer his son up.
That’s what pulled him into the muggle shop. Perhaps there was something in the store that he could give to his son, some sort of remote control car or plane or who knew what else. So, he spent quite a bit of time wandering the aisle until he found something to give him. It wasn’t until he’d moved to the checkout counter that he realized that it wasn’t also being manned by a house elf. No, there was something familiar about this woman. It was the eyes that it dawned on him, childhood pictures that were in a photo album tucked away in his grandmother’s home. This woman was a younger version of his great-aunt Bellatrix, he was certain.
“Bellatrix.” He said in a wary greeting, his eyes watching her carefully. Just because she was younger didn’t mean she was any less crazy.
