It was a very quiet evening in the Whizzer and for that, Remus wasn't ungrateful. He had no idea where Walburga Black was and nor did he care. Really, if she had decided to stop showing up all together, he wouldn't be the one to let Rita Skeeter know that Walburga was skipping out. He rather figured that Skeeter had only thrown them together because she knew that it would be difficult for them to work together.
As it was, he was sitting behind the counter, paging through a book on Defence Against the Dark Arts from sometime far after he had died. He still had his glasses on when he looked up, hearing someone asking him for him.
His first reaction was dread. The man standing in front of him was obviously a Black. Remus only had vague memories of Orion Black and, as it was, Remus couldn't tell if the man was Orion or Alphard. Either way, he knew he couldn't expect anything promising. He knew there was no way that Orion would ever approve of him - and, in fact, hadn't while he and Sirius were in school together. He had been a little more optimistic when Alphard had arrived, but that had quickly soured. From the sound of it, Alphard hadn't been pleased to learn that his nephew was with a man. And for that, Remus was sorry, because he hated coming between Sirius and one of the rare family members he had gotten along with.
Still, Remus calmly removed his glasses and set them down on top of the book. "I'm Remus Lupin," he answered. He wasn't foolish enough to think that the other man would be looking for Teddy - and for that, he supposed he had to be grateful. After all, Teddy was the grandson of a Black; he didn't want their attention to fall upon his son - or Dora for that matter.
"Can I help you?" he asked after another moment, figuring that it couldn't hurt to try to be polite.
