Who: Tribunal + those who will testify
Where: Skeet Beat HQ
When: Tuesday
What: To convict Louis Weasley
Rating/Status: Low / In progress
Rita already had the impression that this trial was dragging on far longer than necessary. Why she was even bothering was entirely beyond her; there were so many Weasleys in this village that it should have been an open-and-closed case, shouldn't it? One after the other, family and friends pour in through those massive double doors to plead his case, the tribunal members discuss the ethics of setting the man free because the friend-to-enemy ratio was slanted in one direction rather than the other, and then they would decide to convict out of spite. Wasn't that the way this sort of thing worked? That's how it had gone last time, with Grindelwald and Potter...
Her spine straight and her nails once again clipping against the surface of the podium, Rita patiently waited for the boy to be led in, ignoring both prisoner and escort until Louis was once again tied to the chair.
If she'd just handed down a sentence without regard for this ridiculous process, the tribunal members wouldn't have had to sit there, evidence would not needed to have been brought forward and she would have had her day to herself, to do with as she pleased. But of course, everyone would complain, wouldn't they say? Her little civilians would cry for justice, call themselves prisoners! Rita sniffed, her chin rising imperiously.
"Today," she began without warning, expecting silence to fall as soon as her voice rang out, "we will hear evidence to convict this adorable man. Will one of his victims step forward? Anyone else? You'll have the opportunity to defend any accusations once they are done speaking, my dear little half-breed."
