James, as easily distracted as he was, was quite aware of the shift. As much as he wanted to understand why, he wasn't completely sure how to ask. Only then Scorpius spoke, and he felt a strange, churning sort of feeling in his stomach. "A woman, huh?"
There was a faint frown at that, and none of it made any sense. He had to wonder if asking Lily was a wise decision in the end. Then again, he wasn't exactly a wise person. He pushed the thoughts away along with his frown. He couldn't frown about things when it was possible whoever the woman was wasn't some girl Scorpius was with. It was a little illogical to be minutely jealous of dream people anyway.
However, the moment Scorpius spoke again, James lifted himself up on his elbow, body angled a bit more toward the other man's. "Your daughter?" That had been a bit surprising. "Blimey. Do you think-" And then his brow furrowed again. "Does that mean you got married, then? I mean- And I guess that would-" He was stopping himself before he got too much further with the unfinished sentences. "I guess that would make sense. Daughter." He cleared his throat before lowering himself back on the bed. "At least neither of us were alone."
