The world is not enough/but it is such a perfect place to start, my love
who: Gellert Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore, Emrys.
where: Albus' house.
when: Sunday, May 31st.
summary: Three brilliant boys having lunch together. Let's see how this turns out.
rating: PG at the most, I'd expect.
status: Awesome. But in progress.
Albus was the first person that Gellert had ever met who could keep up with him. Emrys was the second.
He wasn't nervous about the two of them meeting. Gellert Grindelwald was rarely, if ever, nervous about anything. He knew they'd get on excellently! How could they not? Emrys was the founder of wizardingkind in Britain, and fun, and had incredibly novel magical abilities. Albus? Albus was brilliant, and fun, and one of the few people who could handle magic as well as Gellert could. Also, Gellert was right there so that if the conversation flagged or Albus ended up being awed, Gellert could always jump in and save him! Gellert was never at loss for words, after all.
He'd jotted Emrys a note in Emrys' journal to tell Emrys that the lunch would be held at Albus' place. It had been incredibly fortunate that Albus had volunteered to feed them, since Gellert was quite sure that his house was in no condition for receiving guests and though Emrys' house might be in better condition, it seemed a bit much to impose on Emrys when Emrys had been planning on eating with him. Now, as the rich scent of the stew drifted through the room, Gellert snuck a taste of it, dipping a wooden spoon into the liquid and then sticking it into his mouth before Albus could reproach him. He'd found out about Emrys' vegetarian ways just in time and though Gellert missed the thick blood-broth of his homeland, this was good too. Very nicely flavored and probably very nutritious too.
The sound of the doorbell made him jolt upright from where he'd been leaning against the counter and chatting amiably with Albus, "He's here!"
Tossing the spoon into the sink, he tugged off the apron that he'd been wearing to keep Albus company, "I'll go get him, you keep cooking!"
He was still flame-colored, but some of the colors had shifted subtly. It wasn't much, but it was a sign of some progress, awkward and sideways though it might be. Gellert had decided that the lunch was casual, so hadn't bothered dressing up too much, tossing on medium blue robes patterned with black embroidery at the hem, rolling the sleeves up and keeping the hood down to compensate for the weather. Now, as he pelted to the door and yanked it open, he grinned at Emrys like some strange cobalt flame-sprite, "Hello!"
