Who: Harry Potter and Remus Lupin
Where: Remus's cottage
When: Wednesday morning
What: Checking in
Status: Completed
He felt bad for Remus. First, he'd assumed very incorrectly that Remus even knew what he was talking about, then Teddy had found out, and then James... Remus was getting it from all sides, if he was right. And if he wasn't, then he wasn't getting anything at all, which meant it was the cold shoulder all around, and him left alone with his guilt and self-loathing. Remus really was good at the self-loathing. As he had spoken to his father about it, Harry had come to realise that it was likely that more than anything else that had sent Remus packing. Or almost packing. Hoping to be packing. And it was that, that had sent him away from Hogwarts, a job that he had been particularly good at, that he had loved, and that had provided him with a home and family when the rest of the world had outright abandoned him.
Harry felt like a complete tool.
It was with an apologetic box of chocolate that Harry made his way over to what he had learned was Remus's cottage. Likely, Remus wouldn't have had time to recover fully from the Moon, but at least, he told himself, it wasn't the morning after; it was the morning after the morning after, so clearly, he wouldn't be turned away. Maybe.
Oh, Merlin, what if he was turned away?
Harry knocked on the door before he talked himself out of it.
"Remus? Remus, it's Harry." He cast a glance around and looked down at the rather large package in his hands. Merlin, he had bought a lot of chocolate and he might be left out on the porch anyway. "I have chocolate."
