There had been a few notable people missing from the Watch meeting. Perhaps it was unfair of Harry to hope - or even expect - to see his father there. Perhaps it was unfair to hope to see Sirius and Remus. After all, they'd given their pound of flesh working for the Order; they'd given their lives! But Harry felt somewhat, dare he think it, abandoned. He had thought that his father... But that was unfair. If James died... that was it. He was just gone, forever. When he thought about it that way, Harry had to concede that it was definitely for the best.
The meeting over, Harry ascended the stairs without much of a word to anyone, and waited in the upstairs common room for Albus to join him; Al had said they needed their privacy, and though they each had a cottage of their own, Harry was living with a Death Eater, and he had no idea who Albus's roommate was.
