Colin loved dates. Okay, that might not have actually been true as he’d never really been on a date, but he certainly liked the notion of them. He didn’t mind being set up blind either, he couldn’t think of one person in the village he didn’t like. That was a lie too, actually. If he showed up to his table and Snape was there, he was very likely to just leave.
Still, Colin put on the best clothes that he had (which was really only a nice shirt and a pair of jeans), slung his camera around his neck and jogged out of his house. On the way to his date, he stopped briefly at the store to buy a flower. Sure, he didn’t know who his date was, but who didn’t like flowers? He went in and bought a single rose, and unable to pick which color he liked, he used his wand to cast a color changing charm on it, one he’s used on photos a few times.
Colin came into the restaurant a few moments late. Grinning widely as he looked for his table number, spotting it and Helga Hufflepuff.
“HELGA!” He said practically bouncing as he weaved between the other tables. “HERE! I brought you a flower because... every date needs a flower!”
