Who: Remus and Andromeda Where: Andromeda's place When: Oct. 25 evening What: Remus and Andromeda talk Status/Rating: Incomplete, low?
He'd been surprised when Andromeda had shown up. He didn't know why. He felt that, by now, especially with Teddy's arrival, he should have learned that it was possible for anyone to arrive in Lockewood. He just considered himself greatly indebted to Andromeda Tonks and he now had no idea how to repay her. In fact, if anything, what was going to happen during their next conversation was going to in debt him even further. He had been so happy to share all the good things about Teddy -- because she knew she would be glad to hear of them.
What he hadn't had the heart to do was to explain just how proud Andromeda should be of Teddy. That she was the one that was responsible for making sure that he was raised well; the comment about how he and Dora were meant to be good parents had jabbed him straight through. As had the comment about how he was family. He certainly didn't consider himself worthy of being considered family by her. Neither did Ted Tonks. He could only hope that, if at the end of the evening she disliked him as much as Ted did, she would at least understand how grateful he was that she had been there for Teddy.
He also wished he was bringing her better news. Some part of him was implicitly aware that he should probably tell her about Sirius as well. That would get a bit more sticky. He loved Sirius, but every time he told a member of his family that they were together, he felt as if he was betraying them. He knew it would be even worse with Andromeda, because she was Sirius' cousin.
It didn't take him long at all to find where Andromeda was staying. He knocked quietly on the door. He was also balancing a basket full of the dinner he had made -- a roast, some potatoes, and biscuits. He knew that that wasn't going to make amends, but he could only pray that it would help somewhat.
