Gellert's brows lifted when she crossed herself, but other than that, there was nothing to temper the amusement that settled in the curve of his lips. Something in him wanted to immediately correct her when she called him a child -- it had always frustrated him, the way people discounted him because of his youth. At least half of the interviews at the beginning of his campaign for the Chancellorship had been in defense of his young age, before his rhetoric began to overwhelm even the staunchest of cynics.
"I'm afraid it's a bit late for that," Gellert said, his tone almost kind. "I have given too much of myself to your son to pretend to believe in salvation. Have you seen Albus yet tonight?" He gestured toward the kitchen, as if he intended to lead her to him.
