Who: Scorpius and Daphne
When: Backdated to Sunday afternoon
Where: En route to the hospital.
What: Scorpius helps his aunt to the hospital.
Status/Rating: Incomplete, low

Scorpius didn't know when his aunt would be finished napping, but around his lunch-break seemed like a good time to help her to the hospital. Daphne was his only family left in the village. His mum was gone, but it hadn't really felt like she was there to begin with. She had been younger, more young than he was comfortable with his mother being. His aunt was young too, but that was entirely and decidedly different.

When he reached the door to her cottage, he was unsure of how to proceed. He could knock and wait for her to come to the door, but what if she was too weak to get to it? What if she was upstairs? Scorpius wasn't one to barge in uninvited, not even when it was his aunt's house, but she knew to expect him, didn't she?

Scorpius knocked, waited for a few beats, and then opened the door (after using a spell to unlock it). "Hello..? Aunt Daphne?" he called out as he stepped in.

Daphne felt cotton mouthed but the idea of leaving her bed seemed like an impossible task. If nothing else it felt like the nap had made things worse. Her head hurt and she felt hot and cold at the same time.

She heard the knock at the door but all she could really do was turn a watery eye in the direction of her bedroom door. It was a relief to hear Scorpius' voice.

"In here... " Daphne croaked.

Scorpius didn't see anyone in the living room or the kitchen, so he went up the stairs. He followed the croak of a voice he heard from one of the bedrooms and was relieved to find it was his aunt and not her housemate, Rose and Hugo's mum.

"Hey," he said, stepping in and frowning when he saw how bad she looked. Scorpius walked up to her bedside. Since he worked at the hospital, he had protection charms around him at all times. He wasn't too worried about catching anything. "You look terrible. Can you get up?"

Seeing Scorpius, Daphne gave him a weak smile. She was ready to go back to sleep again. "Thanks, you do know I really worked hard for this look." The ideas of moving her legs seemed impossible

"Umm, let me try. My brain says no but I could maybe." She pushed off the covers and couldn't stop the shiver. Just wiggling her toes was exhausting.

"Maybe not, maybe we could use a levitation charm?"

At least she had a sense of humour. Scorpius chuckled a little while he watched Daphne push off the covers and try to pick herself up. He worried his lip when he saw that she couldn't.

"I can levitate you there– it shouldn't be too difficult, right?" Except for the part where he would have to make sure he didn't make her bump into things. It would be fine once they were out of the house. "I'll come back for whatever you want after we get you in a bed."

Extracting his wand from his pocket, Scorpius murmured the levitation spell and delicately lifted Daphne out of her bed. It took a lot of concentration to keep the spell going. "All right so far?"

	"It shouldn't be, I'm not that heavy." Daphne grinned. This young man, her nephew was a good man even though she didn't know him yet she could see spoiling in her future. "I'd like to think we are," answered Scorpius with a nod, meeting her hand halfway there. Her hands were cold and clammy, which didn't bode well. He smiled to hide the fact that he was scared.

"C'mon, then. Let's get you there." Holding his wand over her with one hand, and holding her hand with the other, he slowly guided her out of the room, through the hallway, and down the stairs. The stairs were the worst part, and by the time he safely got her to the first floor, a few beads of sweat were trickling down the sides of his face.

	It was hard to keep her eyes open, if it wasn't for Scorpius' hand in hers it would be very easy to just fall asleep as she floated. "I'm glad, even though I don't know you in my time or anything. I want to be a good aunt." Daphne murmured. Things felt hazy to her and she shivered a little. "It's not far right? I could use another nap." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Once he had her out the door, Scorpius felt better. He could get her there. They would get there without a problem. They weren't close to the hospital, but it wasn't like it was miles away. "You can close your eyes and rest," he told her, giving her hand a light squeeze. "It'll probably be another ten minutes before we're there." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	He didn't know what to say to her compliment. It wasn't one he heard often. He'd been called boring and smart, but rarely good in the sense that he was kind. Feeling the heat of a blush in his face, Scorpius ducked his head. "Not too many," he said, unsure of the exact amount. "No more than ten.. you're probably the fifth or sixth person."
