Roxie listened to his words, though she didn't process them all. Suddenly she stood on her feet, forgetting about her tea and the family tree. "Well then, Mr. Everguard, we ought to get you acquainted! We're all rather nice and accepting people. Besides, almost all of us adore animals, so I'm sure they'd really like to know a dog groomer. And since we're in business together, they're going to have to get to know you. Have you met my mother yet? I'll bet she'd really appreciate meeting the man I'm about to spend my days with. Or Uncle Fred? I still haven't met him, but Daddy always told me magnificent stories about the two of them! Oh, Uncle Fred is just simply fantastic. Or Grandmum, she's pretty fly too. Or you know what, you could just close your eyes and point at a name. We're practically all here, and if you pick someone whom isn't, we'll just try again."
On her face was a plain and bright smile. Her words rushed out quickly, but they were all easy to make out.
