Severus nodded when she took his cloak. Though it was odd to think of himself as a friendly face, he took the remark in stride, not bothering to remind her that he hadn't actually seen her in person until just then. He knew what she'd meant, after all.
"Perfectly understandable," he answered, again with a nod. "I myself am an unmitigated disaster in the kitchen, so I count myself fortunate to have a roommate who cooks for me, as long as I do the washing up." And then, he prepared himself for the inevitable comparison of potion-making to cooking that usually followed.
