Who: Remus & Emmeline Where:The Market Cafe, A Muggle Cafe in London When: Friday Afternoon What/Summary: Remus & Emmeline meet for coffee, books, and catching up Ratings: Quite tame, I imagine.
It had been too long since Remus and Emmeline had a book date. Frank's recent suggestions about the Order's plans had spurred a renewed interest in spending time with her, not only because of he wanted to catch up, but because he worried about how she was coping.
Armed with a few galleons in his pocket, thanks to James Potter, and two books in his arms, Remus took a long walk into Muggle London in the warm spring air. Despite the cheerful weather, he wore a light jacket. He convinced it would get cold in the evening, but the real reason was to hide the injury to his arm, which was healing slower than he would have liked.
He arrived early enough, settling into a corner table. He'd ordered a simple coffee for himself, and a cappuccino for Emmeline, as she often liked. While he waited for her to arrive, he ran his hands over the dust jacket of one of the books. He hadn't been able to decide which to bring her, and having been without work for the past month, Remus had found himself with all too much time on his hands. The first was an older book, The French Lieutenant's Woman, which was a interesting tale about clandestine love and time travel. He'd found the book interesting because of it's alternate endings, and thought that Emmeline might enjoy the escape from reality as well.
The other book was a current best seller, despite being non-fiction. Anatomy of an Illness had been an engaging story of a patient solving his own medical mystery. It had been of particular interest to Remus, given his condition, though he imagined Emmeline wouldn't understand why he liked it so much.
