"I ran over it in my head so many times after we stopped talking," Blaine said in a strained voice, as if he was willing himself not to break down. "I think, maybe, it would have been worse if we dragged it out longer. We would have ended up hating each other by the end of it."
He took a shuddering breath, letting his eyes drift closed. "Doesn't mean I didn't wish there was a way it could have worked though. I mean.. I'm pretty sure there's never going to be another you."
Brenden's recent departure seemed so insignificant. It was neatly patched up with a pint of Ben and Jerry's and a couple of bad movies.
The breakup with Kurt, on the other hand, felt a little less resolved.
