Kurt tried to hold on to that feeling of being angry, but it was starting to slip and soften. It wasn't like he had grounds to be mad, anyway (which of course, had only really made his anger flare up more). They weren't dating. As much as Kurt hated the idea of it, and despite the fact that the mere thought of anyone else kissing and touching and being with Blaine left a sour taste in his mouth and a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, the other boy was well within his rights to see someone else. Including horrible ex boyfriends.
And this particular ex had obviously not left Blaine in the best condition. Kurt knew (as much as he hated to admit it) that he wasn't either. And as bitter and angry and hurt as he was over everything that even remotely had to do with Brenden, Blaine was important to him and he didn't want him to go on looking like someone had just kicked and stolen his puppy.
So he took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to expel some of the tension with it, before getting to his feet. "I missed you, too, dummy," he confessed, reaching out to give one of Blaine's hands a squeeze. "I'm sorry. Do you have anywhere you need to be or do you wanna get out of here and let me comfort you with ice cream and cheesy movies?" Because that's what best friends did, right? Even when you were in love with them, and they had the nerve to be upset over someone else.
