"Of course we've talked about it," Kurt stated dismissively, waving his hand. Wes didn't need to know that the conversation had consisted of exactly one sentence. Stop me if you don't want this. Blaine hadn't stopped him. That was enough of an answer for Kurt.
He ignored the slight, uncertain, miserable twist in his stomach, straightening his shoulders and lifting his chin in the air. "I'm not risking anything. Honestly, Wes. It's not going to be like last time, okay? I promise. I'm not going to let it be like that." He'd hold Blaine at arm's length - emotionally, rather than literally. Neither of them would get attached the way they had in high school. Which meant when they inevitably parted at summer's end, neither of them would be hurt. Right?
