Nodding his thanks, Wes accepted the glass when it was handed to him, sending Kurt a small smile of thanks as he did so. And, really, he knew that expression. Kurt knew very well that he’d likely be getting what he called a ‘lecture’. Even though in Wes’ books, it was just a talk – he cared. He cared a lot for these two, and they were absolutely incorrigible, the both of them.
So, falling silent to dwell on Kurt’s answer, Wes took a sip of the lemonade. Sweet, tangy, slightly sour – perfect – as was everything Kurt tried his hand at.
Except, of course, stretching the truth. Wes could just barely see it in the twitch of Kurt’s lips, but it was there. It was also clear to him that Kurt wasn’t looking forward to the talk. Well, too bad, it was out of care.
“You’ve known me long enough to know where this is going,” Wes sighed, glancing sidelong at Kurt with a small smile. “So I won’t waste your time. You and I both know it’s a big deal, Kurt, and I don’t think it’s just Lima that’s got you stressed.” He paused, glancing at the stove. “I saw the daisy.”
