At night, can't sleep. Not because I miss my home too much or even because it's uncomfortable here (when I'm tired enough, I think I can sleep anywhere just about), but just because I guess I can't; not tired yet? It's quiet here, for the most part at night, except for the animal sounds, which help me sleep. I'm used to hearing nii-san walking around at night, working on whatever it is he's doing for his office for the next few days, I'm used to hearing my mother laughing and talking to someone on the phone. I'm also used to Kohana crawling into my bed sometimes, just because she feels like it. Here, if I feel anything crawling into my bed, my first reaction is to kick at it as hard as I possibly can.

But... I like it that I can just sit here by the firepit. I've found myself doing so almost everynight. I like looking up at the stars; they seem so endless and so many. I tried looking for constellations, to see maybe if I could geographically place where we are, but so far, I haven't found anything. But then, I was never good at astronomy to begin with. The sunrises and sunsets here are wonderful. I usually get up right before sunrise and watch, just to see it. And I can just sit here and think and it's not... a liability. No one forces me to talk if I don't want to, because I can just type in here. ^^ And when I do have something to say, I can say it to Fujita.

I sent emails off to my mother, my father, nii-san, and Elizabeth-san. I also sent one out to Shizuru-san; no replies yet. I don't know if they went through, but I said basically the same thing, that I didn't know where we were, but I was on an island and a list of the people I was with. I left out about the mermaids though, as I wasn't sure how to phrase it. I added in an extra bit for my mother, and I begged her not to worry. I really, really hope she's okay. I miss her, but at the same time, not as much as I think a daughter ought to miss her mother. We're just too different

    Anyway.

EDIT: I really, really hate the foxes here. I -really- do. Three hours wandering around, just to make it back to the firepit, and they did it, and laughed. I think I'll follow Moroheiya's lead and buy a weapon. Or find a really sharp and pointy stick with which to jab. And I never thought I'd want to hurt an animal.

The Thoughts of One Most Distressed

Several days seem to have passed now since we first found ourselves stranded in this monstrous place. As time passes, more students from both Ouran and Mori High Schools seem to materialize. While some appear to be taking this forced migration in stride, I cannot. This is a wretched place. Everything looks to be covered in filth. Both plants and animals alike are set on devouring us. Large produce cause great explosions in the middle of the night.

I, myself, have made a concerted effort not to leave my cabin unless it is absolutely necessary I do so. I shall not be one of those foolish enough to wander off alone into the dark unknown of the island's interior. But, lord, it is frightfully dull in here! Perhaps I shall have to venture out to the "trading post" at some point and see if they have any sort of literature available. Or perhaps some art supplies?

Iya-kun has been given the task of guarding the Mess Hall, which that white-haired child insists shall repair itself if we wait long enough. (I find such a notion a bit far fetched, but then so is most everything else that has occurred recently.) Apparently when the wildlife of the island cannot eat us, they are willing to make do with our food supply. I must say I am a bit concerned he shall hurt himself during this commission, for his swordsmanship has never been strong. Nor has his stomach. The hours he is keeping cannot be good for his health, either. He sits up nearly all night and returns to the cabin at daybreak. At this moment, he is snoring rather loudly, and it is nearly one in the afternoon. It is a bit bothersome when one is trapped indoors to also be forced to keep one's voice down, but I suppose it must be so.

Sunako Nakahara appears to have been possessed by some sort of spirit. Although a rather frightful lush, I believe this new persona is still a great deal more pleasant than her own. I see no need for any immediate action to in this case.

Well Thank you to the two wondeful girls who got me out of the tree last night. Can't seem to remember much after that, but did you by any chance see where the monkeys and squirrels that must have taken your my things went?

Despite being near a river, I seem to have become dehydrated. What was in that dish I ate?
