hey, everyone! i've decided to bring nam joohyuk into the game, and while i have him 80% developed in my head, i wanted to throw up a post before i wrote his full bio. tl;dr time.
his name is jaemin or jay, he goes by either equally. he's a korean hip-hop head and is a huge fan of jazzy fact, hence the username. he was raised in seoul, but attended international school, so he speaks fluent english. he also attended university in london, majoring in anthro with an emphasis in ancient religions and egyptology. (he's fanatic about indiana jones. 'raiders of the lost ark' era karen allen is his dream woman.) he doesn't do anything with his major, only ever using it to point out flaws in detail when he watches mummy movies.
as for his baggage: he's unemployed, but beginning his career soon - hopefully at a museum or within tourism. one reason he doesn't have a job is he just 'graduated' a rehab program for alcohol issues after being arrested a few months ago. in the years he was studying in france, his older sister began a relationship with one of his best friends. instead of being pleased by the news, when his friend accidentally dropped the bomb during an alcohol-fueled night out, jaemin drunkenly attacked him, which landed his friend in the hospital and him behind bars. his sister and the rest of his siblings used this as leverage for 'intervention,' and he finally conceded and checked into a program. these days, he's sober, though it's definitely not easy. however, rebuilding his life keeps him occupied. he still goes clubbing and hangs out at bars, though he's pretty good at not being tempted to try anything stupid. he also attends a group at a local church to 'maintain' his sobriety.
he's a little embarrassed about talking about this, so only people he's really close to know. ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) wino knows because they dated for two years and she got to see his douchebag alcoholic side. i don't have any other fixed lines for him, but it'd be great to have friends (both pre and post rehab), other people he may have dated, cousins if anyone needs one, maybe even a roommate. if there's anything else he'd be good for, let me know. i'm keeping his details open.
