i'll be around to comment all of your posts later tonight! [01 Feb 2017|12:00pm]
hi, everyone! i’d love to make connections with any and all of you, so here’s your rundown: jennifer “jenny” kim is a 21-year-old native of new york city who moved to seoul at the start of the new year. she has a rudimentary understanding of the korean language and virtually no understanding of korean culture - in other words, she’s grossly american - but her biological parents, who she’s spent the better part of her life looking for, are from south korea, and when she had no luck finding them in the states, she decided to move across the globe to continue her search. jenny would never tell you that about herself, though, because if there’s one thing you should know about her, it’s that she habitually lies about her background. her lying isn’t so bad that it’s made her delusional - she knows her lies are just that - and she’s never felt the need to alter her personality to make people like her, but the embarrassment she feels with regard to her past has driven her to turn it into a work of creative nonfiction. in this revised history, jenny is the only child of a successful, happily married couple from the upper east side and she moved to seoul to serve as the personal assistant to one of her father’s colleagues. despite her inherited wealth and her expensive tastes, she is incredibly down-to-earth and friendly, the life of the party, and there is little she cares about more than having a good time with her friends. of course, knowing jenny isn’t quite who she says she is, one has to wonder: where’s the money coming from?

now for connections! did your character(s) give jenny a tour of skyview terrace and/or the city after she moved in a month ago? did they run into her when she was lost on the street and help her find her way only to discover that she lives in their apartment building? did she persuade them to help her unpack boxes in exchange for food? did she invite them over to watch movies in the middle of the night while she was jetlagged? is she their neighbor? i hope so, because she needs all the love she can get and she has plenty to give. ALSO! on an unrelated note, i went ahead and made this for my reference and i figured i’d post it here just in case any of you might find it useful as well. if your time zone isn’t included yet, let me know and i’ll add it for you!

don't laugh at me as i stumble through this ty [01 Feb 2017|06:57pm]
hey everyone, i'm going to hit up everyone else's posts eventually but in the meantime this is theo hans! he's 22 and has been working as a teacher at yongsan intl school of seoul since the fall. he's originally from california, moved to massachusetts for college at boston u, and then decided that going to seoul to teach was a perfectly reasonable alternative to starting his intended career in engineering. he's probably best known around the complex for looking like a fuckboy and spending a lot of time in the gym, but at heart he's a shy awkward guy who fakes it until he makes it. please take pity on him.

he's not all too familiar with korean and can't always use his bro and roommate ~consolas as a lifeline, so anyone who's willing to help him get through life would be great! he also needs friends, people who patted his back while he cried tears of blood during his first few weeks of teaching, people he knew in the us, relatives if anyone with chinese pbs wants to join in, ladies he tried to hit on at the club and failed, ladies who let him succeed, gym buddies, someone whose place he hangs out at when jon brings someone back to the apartment, someone who let his drunk ass into their apartment when he was lost that one time, anything!! let's come up with something!
