It wasn't until she was nearly to the park that she realized she didn't remember his name. Oh, well. They'd talked enough on the computer beforehand, and she had a good enough idea of what he looked like (and his personality), so she didn't feel too weird about meeting him here. He seemed pretty cute, at least judging from the pictures she had seen, even if he was kind of... not like the guys she typically pursued.
Whatever. She didn't even want to stay here, so she wasn't about to let herself get attached, and he didn't seem the type to take anything seriously, anyway. Might as well have a little fun if she was gonna be stuck in a strange town with strange people.
Claire pulled into a parking spot at the edge of the park, pulling a tote bag filled with food as well as a blanket from the passenger seat before climbing out and locking up. She headed toward the swings, seeing a figure there and assuming it was him. By now the kids in town ought to be headed home and not at the park, so who else could it be?
"Hey," she said, as soon as she was close enough to be heard. "I got some sandwiches and a bag of chips. Some sodas, too. It'll go with the vodka or whatever." The smile she gave was warm and friendly, framed by the fading sunlight. Yeah, he was definitely cute, now that she was getting a good look at him.
Claire could only wonder what he thought of her. She'd put on her favorite jeans and a slim-fitting t-shirt, mindful of the cool breeze blowing. In her van, she had a hoodie, though after getting a look at her date, she decided she wouldn't mind letting him warm her up if she got a chill. Maybe.
