Danny let the girls talk, and just listened for a bit as he ate his pizza. Tess seemed to have the situation well handled for now. And it wasn't like marriage would never be discussed, but she was right they didn't have to get get married to live together and be a family. Danny sure loved how great Tess was with his daughter. She was an amazing young woman, and he was lucky to have her. He knew that. And Grace was lucky to have her too. They hadn't talked about it much, but Danny figured that Grace probably missed her mom pretty badly. Danny couldn't blame her. He'd had his problems with Rachel, sure...but she'd been a good mom to Grace.
"And we know I love both of you." Danny said, starting in on his second slice. He was glad this all seemed to be going well. For most people, even the notion of moving in with someone else might seem crazy this soon. He was so glad that Tess was not most people. She was better, different, than most people. He loved that about her, and so much more. Danny put his crust on the floor so one of the dogs could eat it. He didn't expect Zoe to bother with it, it wasn't proper cat behavior.
"I am so glad you said that." He squeezed her hand back, unable to shake his grin. It was working out. He was going to live with her, they were going to be together as a family in the same house. It was like a dream come true for Danny. "There's more pizza if anyone wants." He said, wanting to make sure they got what they wanted before he went for another slice in the kitchen. "Yeah we might have to do something about that." Danny said, looking at the dogs. They didn't need a bunch of puppies running around, as much as he did love dogs.
