Danny laughed a bit at Grace's enthusiasm. He knew kids thought a lot differently than adults did. The time he'd known Tess must have seemed like much longer to Grace. And she'd wanted them to get married for awhile, it seemed. That was a little too quick, though Danny thought it was definitely possible for the future. In a way, he already considered himself married to Tess. That was how he felt in his heart, he really couldn't imagine a life without her in it in some way.
Tess handled Grace's outburst well, just another thing that Danny loved about her. "It's a bit too soon for that, Monkey." He told his daughter, smiling at her, and then looked at Tess. "But it's something we'll talk about just like this one day." Because he truly believed it was just a matter of time. He glanced to the dogs in the kitchen. "If we have any crust left over, we can give them some." He suggested, taking another bite of his pizza. Tess hadn't outright said yes, but it definitely seemed like she was interested in the idea after what she'd said to Grace.
"Aww Monkey." Danny shook his head. "That's very sweet of you." He wasn't mad. He was glad that Grace was so taken with Tess. He was too. He wanted them to really be a family, and marriage was something he was thinking about but they'd only known one another a little over a month. That was probably a little too soon to talk seriously about it, but Danny hoped that Tess knew it was in his thoughts for the future. When he looked into the future, all he could see was this. He was so happy.
"I think us all living together will be a great opportunity to get to know each other." He told them. "And see how the furkids get along as well." Made sense to him, try out living together and if all went well, he predicted proposing by the end of the summer.
